This weekend, C and I went up to Canada to visit his parents. His mom recently spent 11 days in the hospital with pneumonia and his dad was also very sick. As I've previously shared, they are truly my second mom and dad and we were so worried about them!
So despite the ten hours of driving it takes to get there, we left on Friday afternoon, arrived late Friday night, spent yesterday with them, and then left this morning for our ten hour drive home. A nice bonus was being able to visit my aunt and uncle who only live about 25 minutes from C's parents!
Avalanche was a champion in the car as usual and loved seeing his grandparents! He is typically not one for tail wagging, but when we pulled into their driveway, he knew exactly where we were and stood on the back seat wagging his tail! So cute!
One fun thing that happened on our drive was that for the third time in five trips since last June, we got the same border agent when we were crossing the border into Canada! I feel like the chance of that happening is pretty slim; on Friday night, there were seven lanes open and we randomly chose one and it happened to be his! He said, "I think I've had you guys before! I remember your plate!" He was just as great this time as the two times we got him last summer!
While 20 hours of driving in the span of about 42 hours might not be everyone's idea of a good time, we love road trips! C's mom and dad are on the mend and getting to see them and hug them was everything!
