Fall Trip to CA: Disneyland Hotel

Since our trip was a little on the lengthy side, I've broken it up into a series of posts; links to the additional posts can be found at the bottom of this one!

After three nights at Hotel Indigo, we headed over to the Disneyland Hotel on Tuesday, October 6.  When we checked in, we were told that our room had two queen beds, which, of course, is more than fine, but we asked if there were any rooms with king beds just in case one was available.  The cast member said she needed to check with her manager and disappeared into the back for a few minutes.  When she returned, she told us that she had gotten the ok to put us in a room with a king bed, so we were pretty excited.  But we were completely unprepared what we found!  We got a corner room on the top floor of the Frontier Tower with amazing views and two balconies!  A serious upgrade!  Easily one of the best hotel rooms we've ever stayed in.  Even though we've stayed here before and had the same awesome headboard, which not only lights up with fireworks, but also plays "A Dream is a Wish Your Heart Makes," our view this time was unbelievable!  The room was so nice that I almost hated leaving it each day!

These are three of my
very favorite photos

One morning during our stay, we had a fun breakfast at Goofy's Kitchen – it was a character breakfast featuring Goofy, Minnie, Chip, Dale, and Pluto.  Goofy really hammed it up for us, which pretty entertaining, and the other characters were great, too – I love Pluto, so I always get more excited than is probably necessary when I see him.

Another morning, we went over to the Grand Californian for another character breakfast at Storytellers CafĂ©.  This time we saw Chip, Dale, Br'er Fox, Kenai, and Meeko.  MEEKO.  I love Meeko!  C wasn't at the table when Meeko came by, so I had to take a selfie with him.  I was so excited that I seriously could not keep my hand steady.  Every photo was blurry!  The one below was the best of the bunch.  I'm sure I came across as a bit of a lunatic, but I don't care!  He is truly one of my favorite characters!

Another day, we went back over to the Grand Californian and happened to catch a performance of the Cadaver Dans, which was amazing – they are so talented!  I'm a fan of a capella music already, so I'm a little biased, but I could have listened to them for hours.  My favorite song was "Grim Grinning Ghosts," which is the theme music from The Haunted Mansion.  The best!
