Asian Adventure 2020: Day 10

We were up early because we had to leave our beautiful resort at 7:45 am to head to the airport! We will miss this place so much...there have never been three other days where we have experienced such peace and relaxation!

The Phuket airport is fine as far as airports go, but there were seven gates assigned to one podium/jetway and it was madness. Who thought this was a good idea? Gates 4-10 all utilized the same one small area, so it was chaotic and confusing to say the least!

Obviously the coronavirus is a major concern right now, and the airport staff was taking every passengers' temperature before they were allowed into the passport control/security area. Although strange, I do appreciate their attempts to keep sick people from flying.

Our plane was nowhere near full, which was great because we knew we'd have an empty middle seat between us, but when I tried to put the armrest up, it jutted out in a very annoying manner. What on earth! I feel like it is a very simple and common design to have the armrests fold right up into the space between the seats, but not on this plane!

I took a bunch of pictures from the plane during the brief 90-minute flight. The first is as we were leaving Phuket and the rest were as we were approaching Singapore, and I was fascinated by how many ships were anchored out in the water!

The Singapore airport is hands-down the most beautiful, modern, clean, and impressive airport were have ever set foot in. We were even able to complete the immigration forms on an app on our phones instead of filling out a ridiculous piece of paper! Welcome to the future! It's like the airport is straight out of The Jetsons!

We took a taxi from the airport to our hotel, passing the Marina Bay Sands on our way, which is one of the most recognizable buildings in Singapore. It turns out we can also see it from our hotel room, which is pretty cool! When we checked in, the front desk staff took our temperature, too!

After we got settled in our room, we went to large shopping/dining complex nearby to find some dinner, and we were surprised by the lack of vegetarian options at the varied asian restaurants! We ended up eating at a Mexican place, which was delicious and made us extremely happy because we hadn't had Mexican food in well over a week and it is our favorite!

We have some fun places to visit on our schedule over the next few days and I'm very excited to explore a new city!

Happy Tails to you!

Asian Adventure 2020: Day 9

We had another very relaxing day in this small slice of heaven on earth...we spent about six hours swimming in our pool and rest of the time just lounging around staring out at the Andaman Sea. Instead of going out for dinner, we ordered room service - I can count the number of times we've ever ordered room service at a hotel on one hand - and we listened to the sound of the waves crashing on the beach while we ate. Amazing.

We are absolutely not ready to leave this gorgeous place, but in the morning we are heading to the airport to fly to our next and final stop of the trip!

Happy Tails to you!
