We spent the morning enjoying the resort and relaxing and we saw the cutest lizards among the leaves on a plant we walked by! Adorable!
In the afternoon, C had a nap while I got to hang out with a friend who lives here on Oahu! We taught sixth grade together from 2008-2011, but she moved away due to her husband's job after that and we hadn't seen each other since! She drove over to the Aulani and it was so great to see her, meet her two daughters, and just catch up for a while! We were so busy chatting that we didn't take a pic together, which we both realized after she and the girls had already left. I guess that's the sign of a good visit when we were too preoccupied to think about photos!
Before dinner, C and I walked down to the beach for a few hours, and then after dinner, we were able to watch the luau from our balcony, which was quite a show! It was sold out, but even if it hadn't been, we would not have attended because it is very costly, and as vegetarians, we would not come even close to getting our money's worth out of the meal, so being able to watch the show from our balcony was a nice surprise! The music and dancers were fabulous and it was a great way to end the day!
