It's been three years since I've taught math. Three years!
The first year was when I took time off to care for my mom and over the past two years, I've been focused on language arts in my role as a reading specialist.
I've always loved books and words and letters and sounds and being a reading specialist has deepened that love more than I could have thought possible.
But I also love numbers and I have really, really, really missed them!
With today being the last day of school, it seemed like a perfect time to share that I'll have the best of both worlds next year! I will be splitting my time between language arts and math! Honestly, it's a dream come true!
I am super excited about this change and already have a million ideas rattling around in my brain. I will still get to work with the incredible teachers at my school, which is my favorite part of my job, but now I'll also be able to share my passion for math!
I'm feeling exceptionally fortunate for such a great opportunity and for getting to live once again in the world of math!
