Uruguay January 2026

We took a fun little day trip from Argentina to Uruguay on Saturday via a ferry that runs between Buenos Aires and Colonia del Sacramento! We left in the morning and returned at dinner time and while we only spent the day, we really enjoyed our time there! It is one of the oldest cities in Uruguay and its historic quarter is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. We wandered around, ate lunch at a local restaurant, listened to SO MUCH live music throughout the day, and explored the historic fortress. It was an absolutely beautiful day in a beautiful place and we will definitely be back for a longer stay!
