We spent all day in the car except for gas/food breaks, and three additional brief stops (two of which were for welcome signs)! We left our AirBnB at 7:30 am and checked into tonight's hotel at 7:30 pm. Long day!

The only touristy stop was in Kansas City to find a parking garage that is painted to look like a bookshelf. It's pretty impressive! Beyond that, we were in the car, spending about 600 of the 745 miles today on Interstate 70 with very flat landscapes all around us. When we finally spotted some mountains in the distance as we approached Denver, we were beyond excited! We also ran into a terrible storm, and we pulled off the road for a few minutes two separate times because the rain was making it impossible to see the road. That was a bit scary, but it reminded us how fortunate we've been with the amazing weather we've had for driving over the past four days!
