Life Lately July 2022

I cannot recall any July flying by as quickly in all my life! C and I started the month with COVID and are ending it with our big summer trip. In between, my best friend Dan visited for a week, we went to Philly, and I spent two weeks tutoring, so we were busy, but still!

Tomorrow we are embarking on an eight-day rafting trip down the Colorado River and I am super excited! I did this trip with my family over twenty years ago, and the memories I made on that trip, especially with B2, were incredible. C has always wanted to do this trip, so we are incredibly fortunate that the timing worked out and there was availability, because we only booked it in March.

We knew summer travel and storms and persistent airline issues could impact our travels, so we flew to Las Vegas on Monday - two days early - just to be safe. We've done some touristy things, but have mostly just relaxed, as we don't particularly love the 115 degree heat during the day! We're anxious to get this river adventure started!

after nine days of being sick,
we finally felt well enough to go for a walk

finally negative!

had a movie date with my mom!

the most luggage we have ever taken on a trip
because the rafting trip requires things that
we would never normally travel with!

delayed take off and
90 minutes of rough turbulence,
but an empty middle seat between us
and a safe arrival made up for it!

we were thrilled to find a Giordano's
in Las Vegas!

went to the coolest little bar

I was obsessed with the ceiling!

Absolutely obsessed!

The number of pics I took was obscene!

Not sorry. It was so magical!

We'd never been to Fremont Street
in all of our trips to LV.

Will not go back.
Hated it!

We took a night tour at the Neon Museum
and the history and the signs were amazing!

I can't explain it, but I love
The Flamingo!

Not a very good pic,
but we rode the High Roller!

The views were awesome!

We're off to an orientation meeting for the river trip now! Hopefully I'll be able to share some fabulous Grand Canyon pictures when we get back!

Happy Tails to you!
