Disney Adulting

One of my best friends and I are huge Disney fans and would always talk about the parks and the cruise line, and the movies pretty much anytime we saw each other. This used to mean mainly when I dropped my students off for her class or when I picked them up, but then I left the classroom and joined her at Kiss and Ride duty and the Disney conversations took place daily. We often talked about going to WDW together, and we were usually taunted by our other best friend, who loved to tease us about being "Disney Adults." Somewhere along the line, we told him that he'd appreciate our Disney fandom if he went there with us, and the idea for a BFF trip was born!

When we started planning the trip, we realized that we had a long weekend in mid-September that would work perfectly, and once we had the hotel and the park tickets, there was no way for him to back out. LOL! I had been looking forward to the trip for months, especially since we are now at three different schools and no longer have the opportunity to chat daily at Kiss and Ride duty.

We had an amazing time together and the trip was a smashing success! I'm not going to lie - I was a little worried as to how things would play out because we have three very different personalities and there was potential for us to really annoy each other! I'm happy to report that despite the disgusting heat, we really had so much fun together, We had originally planned on staying at one of the All-Star resorts because we knew we wouldn't be spending much time in our rooms, but ended up staying at Port Orleans French Quarter, which is absolutely one of my favorite resorts, when we found a good deal. We went to the parks every day (they went to all four parks; I opted out of Animal Kingdom) and only encountered serious rain on our first night (there was some rain on our second night as well, but nothing a poncho couldn't handle). We went to Jellyrolls, which was something I really wanted to do with them because neither had been before, and those memories will stick with me for a long, long time!

we each wore a button throughout the trip

I love these people

drenched but still happy

I'm smiling but I was really hating the heat!

The one thing I will say about the reluctant Disney traveler of the group was that he was a very good sport about things and entertained us with his poses. I don't have an AK pic of him because I skipped that park, but these three are so good!

His antics were even better with the characters:

If you've read any of my other posts about WDW trips, you already know that C and I do not take pics with the characters, but I like getting pics of the characters!

I also always take a punch of random pics:

One of our favorite things was seeing the ride photos, which were always ridiculous. These are the least embarrassing ones, if you can believe it.

I knew where the camera was - they didn't

we tried to do heart hands
LOL

I must give HUGE props to this girl because she is a master at navigating the Genie+ system and getting us on a very impressive number of attractions every single day! As a result of her know how, the reluctant Disney traveler was able to get on pretty much every major attraction in the parks in just a couple of days! She is truly the BEST!!!

I'm not sure we converted him into a full-fledged Disney adult, but he enjoyed the trip, which was really our goal. What I am sure of is that I'd travel with these two again anytime!

Happy Tails to you!
