We use the list of official United Nations countries to track our travels, meaning that places we've visited that are technically part of another country, like Aruba (Netherlands) and England & Scotland (United Kingdom), don't count.
Slovakia is the 35th country we've visited so far! It's also where my maternal grandfather was born, so I was very happy to finally add it to our list!
We took the train from Vienna to Bratislava in the morning, which took less than 90 minutes, and spent the day exploring the city before returning Vienna that same evening. It was a cold and foggy day, with lots of snow on the ground, but we loved our time there! It had such an old world feel to it and I'd love to return for an extended visit sometime in the future! We visited the Bratislava Castle, wandered around the city center, went to an place that had cool optical illusion exhibits, grabbed some lunch, and enjoyed the winter landscape!
The only thing standing between us and Avalanche now is an eight-and-a-half hour flight!
Happy Tails to you!
