Lovely Lyrics: Zip-A-Dee-Doo-Dah

The past two weeks have been a little crazy at our house, so I felt this was an appropriate selection for today.

For starters, it is the vernal equinox, signaling the first day of spring, after what has been a very cold and snowy winter.  I think I may be in the minority when I say that I absolutely love winter, and I am sad to see it go.  Being an optimist, I will focus on the positive:  spring does mean hockey playoffs are right around the corner.  :-)

More importantly, Ginny is on the mend.  When I took her to the neurologist to have her staples removed yesterday, she received a glowing report and was declared “way ahead of the curve” in terms of where they would have expected her to be only two weeks after her surgery.

Here is photographic evidence of her remarkable recovery.  Even though her jumping days are behind her (not because she can't, but because we will be doing everything in our power to prevent her from jumping so she doesn't re-injure herself), we happen to think that she is a rock star!

March 6, two days after surgery; March 19, before staple removal; March 19, after staple removal

So even though this song originates from a controversial movie, there is no denying its infectious message.  And I love silly made-up words…satisfactual?  So cute!

Zip-A-Dee-Doo-Dah!
from Song of the South

Zip-A-Dee-Doo-Dah!  Zip-A-Dee-Ay!
My, oh my, what a wonderful day!
Plenty of sunshine headed my way!
Zip-A-Dee-Doo-Dah!  Zip-A-Dee-Ay!
Mister blue bird’s on my shoulder
It's the truth!  It's actual!
Everything is satisfactual!
Zip-A-Dee-Doo-Dah!  Zip-A-Dee-Ay!
Wonderful feeling!  Wonderful Day!
