20 Years of Magic: Pete Docter

We have come to the end of the tale about our vow renewal and I have saved the best for last.

As you know, the theme for our vow renewal was the movie, "Up."

Pete Docter directed of the movie.  He is a long-time Pixar employee and he also directed "Monsters, Inc." and the upcoming "Inside Out."  But for the purposes of this post, you only really need to know that he directed my favorite movie of all time.

My mom wrote to Pete Docter.  She told him about us, sent him our Save the Date, Information Card, and Invitation, and asked if he would autograph them.

She knew it was a long shot.  She didn't think in a million years that her letter would ever reach him…and even if it did, she was sure she would never hear back from him or from Pixar.

Imagine her surprise and delight when her mail arrived one day and there it was – the self-addressed envelope she had included in her request.

It is clear that Pete Docter is incredibly generous man.  Not only did he sign our three cards, but if you look at the photo, you will see that he added a Carl and two Kevins!  Ahhhhh!  Love!

But it gets even better.

He drew us an original piece of art and included a lovely personalized message.

UNBELIEVABLE!!!

He also drew a personalized picture for my mom!  I still cannot get over the fact that he took the time from his busy schedule to read my mom's letter, indulge her request, and go beyond our wildest dreams to give us priceless gifts in the form of his art work.

HOW AMAZING IS PETE DOCTER?!?

And my mom?!? SO THOUGHTFUL!!!

Best.Mom.Ever.

We are speechless.

Happy Tails to you!
