WDW June 2024

Our 11th trip to WDW this school year was a good one!

I ended up with two personal days left, so we were able to add time to our trip for a total of four days and three nights. We'd originally rented DVC points for two nights at Copper Creek Villas at Wilderness Lodge, and then added one night a few weeks before the trip, so we moved over to Yacht Club for our final night.

We had an early flight on Saturday morning out of Reagan and once we got to Orlando, we took a Lyft to Wilderness Lodge. We went to the food court for a quick bite to eat and while we were there, we got the notification that our room was ready, so we dropped off our bags and then headed over to Magic Kingdom for a few hours!

From there, we walked over to Contemporary to hang out for a while, then went over to Pop Century for a snack I'd read about - the PB&J croissant. I love all things PB&J and this croissant was amazing! We spent the evening at Territory Lounge at Wilderness Lodge and we tried the vegan mac and cheese and the popcorn flight. Both delicious!

Wilderness Lodge is a beautiful resort!

I loved the view from our balcony

On Sunday, we went over to Hollywood Studios in the morning for a few hours before it got too hot and humid, and then we went over to Disney Springs to something that was new-to-us: Cirque du Soleil! The show was called Drawn to Life and we really enjoyed it! The gymnasts, acrobats, and other performers were beyond incredible and the visual effects were very cool. The storyline and the acting were a bit cheesy, but overall the show was really amazing! After the show, we wandered around Disney Springs for a while before going back to our room for a quick rest and then heading back over to Hollywood Studios for the evening. We had a late reservation at Oga's Cantina and then got in line for Slinky Dog Dash right before park closing and only had about a 20-minute wait! We rode in the very last car in front of Slinky's tail and that's now our favorite seat on that ride! Forget the front seat - we'll definitely request to be in the last seat from now on!

On Monday, we were checked out of Copper Creek Villas and dropped our bags off at bell services so they could be transferred over to Yacht Club for us. We went over to Animal Kingdom for just a couple of hours and then went back to Pop Century for second PB&J croissant because yes, it was so good that it warranted a return trip to Pop Century!

We had a mid-afternoon dining reservation at Beach Club, so we decided to go over to Yacht Club just in case our room was ready early, which it fortunately was, so we were able to have a quick rest before going to Beaches and Cream! After that, we picked up our luggage from bell services, got settled in our room, and then walked over to Epcot for the evening. We did encounter some rain, but we also saw a rainbow, so that is a win in my books, and there were Extra Magic hours that night, so we were able to enjoy the park with fewer people in it and explore the newly-opened hub area.

Wilderness Lodge that the drink machine

We had to check out on Tuesday morning, so we packed up and dropped our bags off at bell services before going over to Epcot for a little while and then ending our trip at Magic Kingdom. There was some rain in the afternoon, but honestly, we really lucked out with the weather on this trip!

rode GotG and the music wasn't working
so we told a cast member when we were exiting the
ride and they took us right back to the front of the line
so we could ride a second time immediately!

we were able to sit in
"our chairs" for the first time in forever...
most of the time they've been occupied, but
on several occasions, they haven't even been there!

we always check out the puzzles and when we saw this one,
I thought, "that looks vaguely familiar"

Our flight home was delayed due to storms in the area, but we still got home by 10:00 despite having to wait to collect our checked bags (something we try to avoid at all costs!) because I bought art that we had to carry on with us. Some great memories were made on this trip and it was a fabulous way to end the school year!

Happy Tails to you!
