These are some of the hashtags I would often use on IG for
photos of Maddy and Ginny together. I didn't write anything about Ginny in my
Magoo post because I felt like their relationship was worthy of its own post.
They came from the same foster home and grew to be best
friends. I don't know if that was because they were the two "puppies"
– Ginny was one and Maddy was four when we adopted them, compared with Chelsea
(10), Gunni (12), and Molly (14) – but they were thick as thieves. Ginny has
never known our house without Maddy in it. And we now have a very sad little
dog at our house.
She has lost six sisters in less than eight years. Another
hashtag I use on my dog photos is #myherd. Ginny has lost her herd.
With the passing of each of our other girls, at least Maddy
and Ginny always had each other. That is no longer the case.
With my mom living with us right now, Ginny does have my
mom's dog, Ava, as a temporary companion. I'm very grateful for that because at
least she is not completely alone and Ava is a sweetheart. But it's not the
same. Not even close.
Ginny has never been an only dog and she is missing her best
friend something terrible. She is moping around, not eating much, and very lethargic.
I hope it will get better with time. We are showering her with love – both for
her benefit and for ours, because the house is so very empty without our Maddy.
As with my Magoo post, I thought I would let the pictures
speak for themselves…two little best friends who shared just about everything.
These are pretty typical pictures of how Ginny has been all week. She is heartbroken and grieving. Our poor girl.
I chose this title because Ginny LOVES cheese - it is honestly her favorite food. :)
Happy Tails to you...
