Spring Break 2018: Day 4

We started off our morning with Nutella crepes for breakfast, so obviously we knew it was going to be a great day! We took the metro over to Vatican City, where we found a café that served espresso in cups lined with chocolate! So delicious! We then went over to St. Peter's Square to see St. Peter's Basilica and we were blown away by the architecture! Absolutely beautiful! We did not go inside because the line for security seemed to be a mile long – keep in mind it is the week of Easter! – but it was certainly lovely see even from the outside!

We walked throughout the area and just soaked up the atmosphere, stopping for lunch at Piazza Navano, and then spent the rest of the afternoon wandering around the city. The buildings in Rome are something to behold…I could spend every moment just looking up and admiring them. Even some of the walls in the metro stations are pretty, with colorful tile work and patterns!

We stopped in at a very cool brew pub, and not only did we have a space dog on our table, but we met a furry friend there! I've been suffering from dog withdrawal pretty badly, so I went over and asked her humans if I could pet her, and it was fabulous! Not the same as Maddy and Ginny, but still so awesome to pet and talk to a dog!

We went back to the Colloseum to see it at night before having a late dinner, where the weather was perfect for dining outside! To end our night, we got some gelato before going back to our hotel to pack. Tomorrow we are off to Barcelona!
