30 in 30: Day 6

It was another long day of driving, but the scenery was absolutely stunning, so no complaints here!

Day 6 Stats
Starting Mileage: 36,883
Ending Mileage: 37,465
Miles Traveled: 582
States Visited: CO, WY, UT

We had a fantastic breakfast outside of Denver and drove to Pawnee National Grasslands in Colorado because we love the show Parks and Rec. Other than that, there isn't really too much to report about the drive! It was a beautiful day and we arrived just outside of Salt Lake City right around 8:00 pm.

It's at this point that I do have somewhat of a story! We were supposed to stay at a Hampton Inn, but when we got to the front desk to check in, we learned that there had been a water main break and there was no water at the hotel! How did we learn this? When we entered the lobby, there were irate guests yelling at the poor hotel employees! To their credit, they handled the rude people in such a professional manner! When it was finally our turn, the employee kindly offered to move us over to the Courtyard, which was fortunately nearby and had no water issues! We came over to this hotel and are very grateful for how accommodating both hotels were (the Courtyard is honoring the rate we had at the Hampton Inn!).

My final share for the day...we went out to get some dinner and it was during this meal that Montreal Canadiens fell to the Tampa Bay Lightning in the Stanley Cup Final. I cried. For real. I'm so heartbroken for Carey Price. Sigh...to be honest, I'm glad this crazy season is over!

this place was awesome

seriously so good

pretending this is Pawnee, IN

we brought our Ginny pillow in the car
so that she could be with us in spirit
even though in reality she is
being spoiled by my mom

the sky was amazing all day long
